About The Tahel Crisis Center for Religious Women and Children
Violence against women and children is the most widespread human rights violation on earth. In Religious and Ultra-Orthodox Jewish Communities, these acts of violence are generally not reported to the authorities. Victims are torn between ending their own personal nightmares and bringing ‘shame’ to their families and to the communities that they live in.
The Tahel Crisis Center for Religious Women and Children was started to give these women and children a place to call for help. It began with a hotline and has grown into a center for support and education. Tahel started with the core belief that ‘No Woman Should Cry Alone’. Over the years Tahel has expanded on this and offers many additional services as well. Tahel is the only Rape Crisis Center in Israel specializing in working within the Religious and Ultra-Orthodox communities.
